Baltic Cable’s Supervisory Body has appointed Kajsa Hedberg as the new CEO of the company, as of December 2024. Kajsa has over 25 years of experience in the energy sector and recently worked as CEO for C4 Energi in southern Sweden. She will take over the role of current CEO Jan Brewitz who will remain in the company as Technical Director.
“I am very happy to welcome Kajsa Hedberg to Baltic Cable. Kajsa has solid experience and knowledge in the field of energy, strategy and M&A and has worked internationally. She stands for clear and inclusive leadership with a focus on results and commitment. These are important features for developing Baltic Cable and building our investment business“, Asbjörn Grundt, Chairman.
Kajsa has extensive work experience, including Skellefteå Kraft with business development, CEO of SRV Återvinning, waste collection and recycling facilities, and E.ON Biofor (biogas operations within E.ON). She has also had several board assignments, such as Norrlandsfonden and Energiföretagen Sverige. Since 2022, Kajsa has worked as CEO for C4-Energi, an energy company in southern Sweden, with a focus on change management connected to the energy crisis, and developing and investing in the energy infrastructure to create a more reliable and sustainable energy system.
“I am passionate about social development and want to create conditions for a sustainable society, today and for future generations. Electrification is one of the most critical factors for the green transition and society’s competitiveness. When I was offered this position – working with investments in the energy industry at European level – I could not resist. It is very inspiring to lead a company and build an investment business that contributes to the electrification, by investing in increased transmission capacity in Europe“, says Kajsa Hedberg, CEO Baltic Cable.
Kajsa will take over from Jan Brewitz, who has been CEO of the company for 16 years. As Baltic Cable enters a new era as an investor, Jan made the decision that it was time to step down from his role after an inspiring journey.
“When I started, the objectives from our owners were to keep the interconnection in operation. This changed and evolved when we later became a certified TSO, and now, when we embark on a new journey, as an investor in European interconnectors. I have steered the ship for as long as I could, but now new expertise is needed. I look forward to focusing my work on the technical aspects of our operations, as Technical Director,” says Jan Brewitz, Technical Director at Baltic Cable.
“We are very grateful for Jan and his contribution to the company as CEO for the last 16 years. His leadership and technical expertise have been crucial in managing the interconnector, and in making the company what it is today. We are very happy to keep him and his knowledge within Baltic Cable”, says Asbjörn Grundt, Chairman.
