Baltic Cable – a vital part of the European electricity network

The Baltic Cable is an underwater high-voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission line. It runs 260 kilometres between Lübeck in Germany and Kruseberg in Sweden. It is the only interconnector between the price zones Germany/Luxemburg and Sweden 4.

The cable came into operations in 1994. In 2019 Baltic Cable AB was certified as an independent Transmission System Operator under the German Energy Industry Act.

The minimum cross-zonal capacity on the border DE/LU-SE4 in accordance with Art. 16(8) of Regulation (EU) 2019/943 has in accordance with the German action plan been increased as of 1 January 2021 and amounts to 277 MW (46%).

Ledningsanvisning

I Baltic Cables elkraftförbindelse på svensk sida ingår två stycken jordkabel-förband. Berörda markägare ombedes att i god tid ringa 070- 553 8257 för ledningsvisning innan något arbete kan påbörjas inom riskområdet. Riskavståndet till kablarna är 5 meter. Ledningsvisningen är kostnadsfri, men bara under förutsättning att ni meddelat oss senast fyra arbetsdagar före aktuell dag.
